Realistic Depth of Field

Portrat uses Apple's Vision framework to detect faces and segment subjects from the background. The result is a depth map that drives natural-looking bokeh — not a uniform blur, but a realistic simulation of how a camera lens renders out-of-focus areas.

Adjustable aperture

Control the depth of field with an aperture slider from f/1.4 to f/16. Dial in a shallow, creamy blur or a subtle separation — just like adjusting a real lens.

Six blur styles

Choose the look that fits your photo. Portrat offers six distinct aperture styles — Bokeh, Motion, Gaussian, Disc, Box, and Pixel — each creating a different character of background blur.

Edit Any Portrait

Take a new photo with the built-in camera or import any existing photo from your library. Portrat will detect the subject and let you apply effects and adjustments.

Photo filters

Apply filters like Chrome, Fade, Mono, Noir, Tonal, Instant, Process, and Transfer to set the mood of your portrait.

Precision adjustments

Fine-tune exposure, contrast, and brightness with simple sliders. Edits are non-destructive — go back and change anything at any time.
